Reassessing Life Insurance in Retirement: What to Review and Why It Matters

Description

Event Description

What This Event Will Cover

A brief educational discussion on reviewing older life insurance policies and how they may fit into today’s retirement priorities.

As financial priorities evolve, strategies that once made sense may deserve a second look, especially when it comes to life insurance. Many individuals between the ages of 54 and 72 have policies that were established years ago to meet specific needs at the time, such as income protection or legacy planning. While those policies may have served an important purpose, retirement often introduces new considerations that can change how those assets fit into an overall financial strategy.

This brief, educational session is designed to help individuals and couples better understand how life insurance fits into today’s retirement landscape and when it may be appropriate to revisit or reposition existing coverage.

Hosted by Daniel Kundla, CFP® of Platinum Wealth Management of Buckhead, alongside Sammy Tekelch, Regional Marketing Director at Lincoln Financial,[1] this discussion will provide a high-level overview of key concepts to consider when evaluating insurance strategies later in life.

During this 15–20 minute conversation, we will discuss:

  • The role life insurance can play in retirement and how that role may change over time
  • Why long-term care planning is becoming an increasingly important part of a well-rounded financial plan
  • The potential financial impact of extended care needs and rising healthcare costs
  • Situations where older life insurance policies may no longer be aligned with current goals
  • An introduction to hybrid long-term care solutions that offer coverage for care while maintaining a death benefit if long-term care is never needed, including Lincoln Financial’s MoneyGuard®

The goal of this session is to provide clarity and perspective, not to recommend any specific course of action. Each individual’s situation is unique, and any decisions should be made in the context of a broader financial plan.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to schedule a complimentary insurance review with our team. This review is designed to help evaluate current coverage and determine whether any adjustments may be appropriate based on present needs, retirement goals, and overall financial circumstances.

Whether you are actively reviewing your plan or simply looking to stay informed, we hope you will join us for this concise and informative discussion.
